ENNUI ET HILARITÉ

Je me suis morfondu à un thriller censé vous faire cramponner névrotiquement à votre fauteuil, Buried, de l'Espagnol Rodrigo Cortés (petit faiseur) ; et beaucoup amusé à un autre destiné à dénoncer des dérives politico-médiatiques françaises, Fin de concession de Pierre Carles. Je ne vais pas me lancer dans une critique comparée de ces deux films, ni même à deux critiques simultanées. Je dirais seulement que quand des pseudo-hollywoodiens (Cortés) veulent faire dans le minimalisme et la gageure technico-esthétique (tout un film dans un cercueil), ils se sentent naturellement contraints, pour alimenter le rien et le non événementiel dans lequel ils se sont enfermés, d'ajouter des ingrédients incongrus et surprenants. Ici, l'homme enterré dans un cercueil est non seulement bien outillé, mais voit surgir un invraisemblable reptile dans l'habitacle ! Quant au film de Carles, il y a certes une volonté comique, mais qui, semble-t-il, dépasse les intentions de l'auteur, au point de masquer pratiquement son discours anti-médiatique. Deux coups d'épée dans l'eau, donc, l'un grossier (Buried), l'autre touchant (Fin de concession).

I was quite bored by a thriller supposed to make you cling neurotically to your seat, the Spaniard Rodrigo Cortés' Buried, and had great fun with a political pamphlet against the French media, Pierre Carles' End of lease. I will not get into a critical comparison of these two films. I'll just say that when a would be Hollywood director (Cortes) wants to impress with a minimalist concept (a whole movie in a coffin), he naturally feels compelled to compensate the no-show, no-event in which he is locked by adding incongruous ingredients. The man buried in a coffin is not only well equipped, but sees an incredible reptile appear in his closed box ! And Carles' film by is obviously funny on purpose, but apparently it goes beyond the intentions of the author, blurring his anti-media discourse. Two “swords in the water” (French expression meaning it's pointless), therefore, one coarse (Buried), the other touching (End of lease).
